- Trail running has become a means of self discovery and pure adventure for me. There is nothing like a few hours on the dirt, jumping over rocks, tripping on roots, and climbing to the top of a mountain to give me an attitude adjustment. Several years ago I completed my first Ultra on a dare, now I am hooked. 2008 I won the lottery for entry into the Western States 100. I entered the Grand Slam, but between the heartache of the No. CA fires canceling Western States and hurling my guts out at Leadville, I did not complete the Grand Slam. Fortunately I have a second chance in 2009! Welcome to my journey and quest. I hope to chronicle this adventure and share it with my family and friends on this blog.
